The lid lifts from either side, adding even more charm and interest to the design.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"528\" data-end=\"856\"\u003ePairpoint Manufacturing Co. was founded in New Bedford, Massachusetts in the 1800s and became especially well known for its fine silverplate and luxury decorative wares. Their pieces are highly collected today because of the craftsmanship and creativity of their designs, and this is such a wonderful example of that artistry.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"858\" data-end=\"1177\"\u003eThis piece is done in Britannia Plate, a type of silverplate finish popular in the late Victorian era.
