Here is a wonderful Virginia Metal Crafters Mahogany letter holder. Virginia Metal Crafters was possibly the finest producer of brass in the United States. It was founded in 1895 and eventually began copying the artifacts that were being dug up during the excavation of Colonial Williamsburg. All of the items made by Virginia Metalcrafters were of the highest quality, whether Williamsburg or not. It was truly a company living in the William Morris craft tradition, and as the Williamsburg program grew, other historic areas copied the reproductions program.
As time went on Williamsburg started to license less expensive products that were made overseas. The fine Virginia Metal Crafters closed in 2005. Vintage reproductions and adaptations from the 20th century are quite collectible. This is 7.25" long x 4.5" wide and 4.5" tall
