This is a vintage silver plate epergne! These were used as a centerpiece to adorn a table or buffet and serve fruits and nuts but also to showpiece seasonal ornaments, flowers and candles. They traditionally consist of a central bowl with other bowls surrounding, situated on at least three feet. This one has a tall central grand bowl, two side bowls, ornate arms and a central pedestal stand, ending with 4 feet which are adorned with detailed face masks. The engraving details are exquisite. Gorgeous heavy piece . The three bowls unscrew for easier shipping and storage. But who would ever store this beauty it is meant to be displayed. Excellent vintage condition with minor tarnish.
