This beautiful antique oyster plate is stunning with its emerald green color which is the perfect backdrop for all of the hand painted gold details and rose bouquets. This porcelain plate was made in the 1800's by Imperial Crown China in Austria. Excellent condition with no cracks or chips except rough edges on the base rim on the back. 9" Collecting antique oyster plates is fun and beautiful. Many southern homes have collections of these delicate beauties which were used by Victorians to hold the popular delicacies. There are various styles and configuration of wells. Many hand painted, porcelain oyster plates were made in France, Germany and Austria in the late 1800's and majolica styles were made in Spain. Start a collection or add to one!
