Exquisite Antique Silver Covered Dish - 1800's

Wow! This antique covered dish is simply incredible.  I can't say I've ever had one that blends elegant simplicity with ornate details so masterfully!  Notice the detailed egg and dart edging, the elaborate repousse feet with flower detail, the branch form handles and the tall dome lid with finial handle.  It is marked "Manufactured and Plated by Simpson Hallmiller & Co USA", a renown silver manufacturer which opened in Wallingford Connecticut in 1866.  This piece dates between 1866 and 1895.  It is in excellent antique condition and there is a light “A” etched on the lid.
