Antique Old Sheffield Plate Bottle Holder

This is a special antique, it was made in the early 1800's by what is called Old Sheffield plate.  It was invented before silver plate.  Another thin metal was coated on both sides with sterling silver and then shaped into a table item.  The edges are usually rolled or slightly sharp and is an indicator of this highly collectable method.  This valuable coaster has a center of wood which has minor surface wear from use.  It has a story to tell, imagine if it was used at an historic tavern! It can become an heirloom in your household.  It has some wear on the top edge that is folded over, indicating it's age and the softness of sterling silver.  6.5 x 2
