Antique Repousse Silver Bowl with Ring Handles

Here is an excellent example of the design technique called Repousse.  In this small heavy bowl the elaborate design was hammered from the back side of the metal.  It then has another layer of silver plated on the inside so you don't see the reverse side of the design.  This ornate bowl is scalloped, sits on a small pedestal and is adorned with ring handles.  Made by the Blakinton Silver Co in the 1800's, in very good condition. Very heavy antique silver plate.  5 D x 3 tall
