Such a handsome pair with a wonderful bit of local history! These silverplated Revere bowls by Poole were awarded as motoring trophies in 1957 and 1958. Their classic shape is lovely, but the original engravings make them especially interesting.

One commemorates the 1958 Delaware Valley Rally-Khana. The other was awarded for second place in G Production at the June 1957 Duryea Drive Hill Climb in Reading, Pennsylvania, organized by the Eastern Pennsylvania Sports Car Club.

The Duryea race followed the winding road up Mount Penn that automobile pioneer Charles Duryea used to test his cars in the early 1900s. In fact, 1957—the year engraved on this bowl—was the year the event expanded to two days to accommodate its growing number of entrants. What a fun piece of Pennsylvania motoring history!

I love these displayed with their engravings facing out, tucked into a bookshelf or filled with small seasonal arrangements. They would also make a thoughtful gift for a vintage car enthusiast.

Both are made by Poole Silver, with the Rally-Khana bowl marked “Authentic Reproduction.” Each measures 6" wide by 3" tall and is in excellent vintage condition. The price is for the pair.
