Rare Monumental Victorian C.B. Barker Quadruple Plate Water Set with Original Stand & Goblet

Absolutely magnificent Victorian quadruple plate water set by C.B. Barker Mfg. Co. This is a true statement piece at 17.5” tall and has such an impressive presence in person. The detailing throughout this piece is exceptional — from the elaborate engraved floral work to the ornate handle and original stand.

C.B. Barker Mfg. Co. operated in Meriden, Connecticut during the late 1800s, which was one of the great centers of American silverplate manufacturing. Their quadruple plate pieces were known for being high quality and heavily silverplated, and this set has held up beautifully over the years.

The condition is remarkable for its age. It presents almost like new with an incredible shine and very minimal wear. The engraved aesthetic floral motifs throughout the body and matching goblet are especially beautiful. I love the architectural feel of the tall center stand and decorative scroll feet as well.

Originally intended as a Victorian water or lemonade service for entertaining guests. Today it would make an incredible centerpiece on a dining table, sideboard, or kitchen island.
