Antique WMF German Silverplate & Cut Crystal Centerpiece Bowl

This antique WMF centerpiece is really spectacular! The removable cut crystal bowl sits in an ornate silverplated stand with pierced scrolling decoration, lion-head handles and a beautifully detailed pedestal base. A wonderful example of the elaborate pieces being made during the late Victorian and early Art Nouveau period.

It was made in Germany by WMF, or Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik. The company began in 1853 and took the WMF name following a merger in 1880.

I love this as a centerpiece filled with fruit, flowers or ornaments at Christmas. It would also be beautiful displayed just as it is—the cutting in the crystal catches the light so nicely. The bowl lifts out of the silverplated base for cleaning.

Marked WMF. Based on its design, this likely dates to approximately 1895–1915. It is in good antique condition with expected wear and tarnish to the silverplate from age. A small monogram at the base There are a couple of flea bites chips on the edge of the crystal. Please review photos carefully as they are part of the description.
