Here is a spectacular antique silverplate bridal basket. Victorian brides carried their bouquets in a special holder like this one! This one is an exceptional example with it's delicate feet and fanned edges. The handle has been so well preserved and the intricate floral details are still visible. One of the things that makes this basket so spectacular is the pedestal it sits on supported by four intricately designed floral legs. The handle is moveable and the center is inscribed "Mr. and Mrs. Bryan." I like to use mine to hold jewelry on my vanity, place flowers in, or hold the teabags when I have guests. 7.75" w x 10.5" tall (with handle raised). This was made by Silver Metal MFG. Co which operated between 1892 and 1898 in New York to produce tablewares made out of a newly invented kind of metal. This gorgeous piece has one of the special victorian hallmarks to look for "quadrouplplate" which means it was coated in 4 coats of sterling silver.Very good antique condition.
