Antique Mason’s Ironstone Teapot, Hand-Painted Floral, England

This antique Mason’s Ironstone teapot is such a beautiful and colorful piece. It features a square, slightly faceted form with a tall handle and spout, all covered in a vibrant hand-painted floral pattern in rich blues, reds, greens, and yellows. The colors are especially striking and give it that lively, collected look Mason’s pieces are known for.

It measures approximately 8.5” wide by 8.5” tall, making it a nice statement piece for display or use.

The underside is marked Mason’s Patent Ironstone China, Ashworth Bros., England. Mason’s was one of the most well-known English makers of ironstone, first developed in the early 1800's as a durable alternative to porcelain. Their pieces often feature bold transferware designs enhanced with hand-painted color, like this example.

There is visible crazing throughout, which is typical for ironstone of this age, along with staining inside the pot. The exterior presents very nicely with only light wear.
