Antique Toast Holder

Here is an antique toast holder! I love these. I recently displayed mine at Christmas with my cocktail napkins in each slot. Toast racks became popular in the Victorian Era to keep toast dry and to serve it easily. In fact, they were touted in an 1865 book called, Mrs. Beeton's Dictionary of Every-Day Cookery, in which the author writes "to make dry toast properly, a great deal of attention is required; much more, indeed, than people generally suppose."
