Antique Victorian Bridal Basket – Brittania Plate

This is such a special one. A beautiful antique Victorian bridal basket with fluted detailing, delicate florals, and a graceful arched handle—it’s absolutely stunning. This piece has been in my personal collection for quite a while because I’ve always loved it so much.

It is Britannia Plate, which was an earlier alternative to silverplate using a specific type of pewter base known for its soft, silvery appearance. It doesn’t shine up quite as brightly as later silverplated pieces and tends to have a more muted, antique glow.
