Extremely Fine Antique Victorian English Silver Champagne Bucket

This fantastic antique Victorian champagne bucket is truly something special and quite unlike most you’ll ever see. Made in England in the late 1800s, it has a striking urn shape. It has wonderful scale at approximately 11″ tall and 10″ wide, and it is very heavy in the hand, as it is silver on copper—the highest quality and most desirable combination in antique silver. The interior is in excellent condition.

The handles are especially unique, with beautifully modeled grapes and leaves at the base of each one, a classic Victorian motif associated with abundance and entertaining. Both the rim and the base feature applied decorative borders (often referred to as molded or applied bands in antique silver), adding depth and richness to the overall design. On the underside, there is a crown mark, indicating that this is English silver. It remains in excellent antique condition overall and is a very fine example of Victorian craftsmanship. A truly outstanding piece that I highly recommend.
