Dome Server from England by Harrison Brothers & Howson (pictured in the middle)
Here, in the center of the group photo, is an elegant domed revolving door server made in England by Harrison Brothers & Howson, a firm which began circa 1800 and became Harrison Brothers and Howson in 1847! This is a fabulous piece! It is the center server in the photo of three. This excellent specimen features a revolving lid which tips all the way back. A fluted star like decoration adorns the lid . Open it to find two very rarely seen removable trays as well as the interior base. One tray is solid for serving and the other is pierced. Hot water can be contained in the bottom to keep food warm on your serving buffet. The dramatic legs are tall and fluted with paw feet, a hole in the lid is to keep your serving spoon inside while the lid is closed. Very good antique condition, a beautiful silverplated heirloom to use as a display centerpiece as well as a special buffet or meal. 14.5" x 10" x 8.5" tall.
