Extra-Large Antique Tray or Wine Coaster — Likely Old Sheffield Plate

Now this is a really remarkable piece! At 9 inches wide, this extra-large antique tray or wine coaster has a wooden base surrounded by the most intricate pierced detailing and a beautifully shaped rim. I have never found another quite like it and I doubt I will again!

Likely Old Sheffield plate, with silver over copper and construction details that suggest an early piece, although its exact age and maker are unconfirmed. Its generous size makes it wonderful for displaying a large wine bottle or a favorite decanter. I would also love to see it holding a small potted plant, with a protective liner to keep the wooden base dry.

This is likely from the 1700's-1800's so there is some wear to the wood and silver (see photos) but otherwise excellent antique condition.

Measures 9 inches wide and 3⅛ inches tall.
