English Pierced Starbust Basket

This is a really beautiful antique silverplate basket with a classic oval form and a tall swing handle. Pierced Starbursts on the sides.

The rim has a twisted rope borde. It sits on round ball feet and has a sturdy, well-balanced handle that moves easily.

Marked W.F.O. along with “British Made,” indicating an English silverplate piece. Pieces like this were made in the late 19th to early 20th century, during a time when English silverplate was produced to a very high standard and designed for everyday table use.

Condition is good antique condition with some scratches to the base of the basket. The base of the basket also shows where the ball feet have been connected.  11" x 8.5"
