Fabulous!!! Antique 1800's Staghorn Carving Set of 7
Here is a rare chance to own a treasure like this. Made in the 1800's this is a set of 7 extra large stag horn handled carving set pieces. Wow! When I opened the box to show this set to my mom (fellow antiques lover and former antiques dealer) she let out an audible gasp! I think you will too when you see them in person! Authentic staghorn would be used in castles in England, think of Balmoral. Stag horn is extremely collectible right now; this is not a modern reproduction. The set was made in the 1800's by Lloyd, Payne, & Amiel in Manchester England. All 7 pieces rest in a velvet and silk lined wooden box. There are two serving forks, two carving knives, plus a knife sharpener and a fish serving fork and serving knife. The fish servers are remarkable with their detailed floral etchings. The ferules are most likely sterling, but appear to be unmarked. There is a little tarnish to the metal, you can see some on the serving knives, and some wear to the outside of the box, but these are in otherwise excellent antique condition. Sturdy and ready to be used!
