This is a flower frog! What is a flower frog? It is something made to hold or arrange flowers. This one, made by Academy Silver, is a silver plate bowl that sits elegantly on a pedestal. There is a reticulated pierced lid that fits on top with a spider web like pattern which is how the flowers are inserted and held. The bowl holds the water. What an unusual and unique presentation piece, either with or without the flowers! There are some tarnish marks to the silver I was unable to remove. It is 12" w x 5" tall.
