Large Gallery Tray with Pierced Sides and Handles

This is a really beautiful tray with silver plated gallery sides and dramatically pierced handles. This one is extra large and stands tall on ornate paw feet legs.  It was made in the early 1900's by Crescent and featured the newly invented formica bottom. Formica was actually invented in 1913 by a young engineer working for Westinghouse. I love these trays for their history and convenience.  As well as the fact that other silver items placed on the tray stand out due to the dark bottom. They never get scratched and water doesn't bother them.  Oval tray 18.25 x 10
