Victorian Silver Butter Press

Victorians thought up every kind of possibility for an  accessory to the their table!  This is a butter press!  Place a bit of butter between the two parts and press the top down.  Butter comes through in the pattern of the pierced design on the top!  Kind of like a Play Dough mold!! Rope edging with a lovely pierced design makes this a conversation piece as well as a unique accessory to any vignette!  Excellent Silver Plate condition. 4" wide
