Antique Repousse Pedestal Vase

Here is the most charming antique pedestal vase, it was made in the late 1800's by E.G. Webster and Sons. The wide band of trim at the top of the vase is detailed repousse.  Repousse is the special technique of hammering the metal from behind to make the designs.  This elaborately crafted trim is extremely detailed, notice the baskets with the overflowing bouquets of flowers and the delicate swirls! The details on this are so enchanting!

The maker was Elizur G. Webster who began his business in New York in 1860 and then later became Webster and Sons in 1886.  

It is 11" t x 10" w. Due to its age and use, this does have patina - a few small dents on the vessel, copper show-through on the silver plate, and some tarnish, adding to its history and charm!
