Late 1700's - Early 1800's Old Sheffield Plate Chamberstick Set

Finding am Old Sheffield Plate set like this fills me with so much excitment!!!! Old Sheffield Plate chamberstick set, measuring 5.5" by 5.25". This is a complete three-piece set, including the chamberstick, the candle snuffer, and the candle sleeve circa late 1700s - early 1800's.

'Old Sheffield Plate', an exquisite and rare craftsmanship not to be mistaken for the later and inferior 'SHEFFIELD PLATE' items, stands as a testament to the ingenuity of mid-18th-century British artisans. This unparalleled process involved delicately layering a sheet of lustrous sterling silver over a core of copper, skillfully heating and meticulously rolling it into splendid sheets. These precious sheets were then transformed into an array of opulent table items, ranging from intricate hollow-ware and resplendent trays to elegant candelabras, candlesticks, wine coasters, and, on rare occasions, even exquisite cutlery.

This set presents well with a bright finish. There is light wear consistent with age, including minor surface marks and expected wear to the underside. The pieces fit together as intended, and it is increasingly difficult to find these chambersticks still together with their original snuffer and rest.
