Vintage Reproduction Sheffield Meat Platter

This is a very nice, heavy Sheffield reproduction meat platter with all of the classic details that make these pieces so sought after. It has the traditional ridged surface to catch juices and that beautiful tree-shaped well in the center, which was designed to keep everything contained when serving.

The border is especially pretty on this one, with a detailed edge and four shell motifs at each corner. It sits up on four feet. Not all meat platters do so this is a nice detail.

Marked Sheffield reproduction, which refers to the historic Old Sheffield Plate technique originally developed in England in the 18th century. These later modern reproductions were made to reflect that same look and form, and this is a great example of that.

There is some light surface scratching to the silverplate from use, but overall it presents beautifully and is a really solid, high-quality piece.
