Antique English Sterling Silver Toast Rack, London Assay (c. 1900)

This is an antique sterling silver toast rack, and it has added value because it is solid sterling silver. It was handmade by a silversmith and not mass produced, dating to right around the year 1900.

The hallmarks are clear and informative. The lion passant confirms sterling silver (.925), and the leopard’s head is the mark of the London Assay Office, indicating it was assayed in London. It measures approximately 3.5″ wide by 2.5″ deep and 4.25″ tall and remains in excellent antique condition. A well-made, early example of English sterling table silver.
