Antique Table Caster Egg Stand

I have never seen a piece quite like this! Made in the 1800's, it is a table caster egg stand. My favorite part about this piece is that it has a little bell to ring when you need your maid to come back to your table! This silverplated beauty was made by Gleason and Sons of Dobuhester, Massachusetts. This is such a conversation piece! On the handle is printed "Patented December 27, 1859" and you can still view the actual patent today! In addition to serving or displaying your eggs in this stand, I think this would be so fun to put shot glasses in and serve a dessert liquor at a dinner. My shot glass fit nicely in the little stand.Either way it is also a great display piece for your sideboard or centerpiece for your table.  Imagine miniature flower arrangements in each egg holder.   This is in excellent antique condition. 15.5" tall.
