Regent Teapot
Regent Teapot
Wonderful vintage silverplated teapot in the Regent pattern by Reed and Barton. The Regent line was produced during the mid-20th century and is known for its clean traditional styling with restrained detailing that works beautifully with both formal and everyday table settings. Reed & Barton, founded in 1824 in Massachusetts, became one of the most respected American silver companies and was especially known for the quality and durability of its silverplate.
One especially interesting detail is that the original owner appears to have engraved their Social Security number into the underside of the piece, which was actually fairly common in mid-century America. Families sometimes marked valuable household silver this way for identification purposes in case of loss or theft. It gives the piece a little glimpse into its history and the life it once belonged to. 9.5" tall.
